You can’t go through life with any amount of passion and impact without making a few enemies along the way. Let’s face it, if you’re doing something worth doing, there are going to be people that get upset about it. Political correctness just doesn’t exist in any important aspect of life.
This isn’t to say you should make a lot of enemies. That’s a clear sign that you’re just being a jerk. You should be friendly and accepting of everyone but you should not be tip toeing through your life to make everyone happy.
It’s impossible to keep everyone around you on your good side while you’re making a real impact on the world. Most people tread so carefully that they barely have an impact on the world. They’ll drop some change in can’s in the holidays and claim they’re doing something good but there are hundreds of other things they could be doing that would have 10 times the impact.
Enemies get made when you’re using the multipliers of value. The more opposed someone is to you, the more important your position is. Stand up for the good things in life, don’t slouch, don’t doubt. If you’re a good person then you have no reason to worry about what your “enemies” think. They’re just a sign that you’re doing something right.
