“In the end the Obama administration is not afraid of whistleblowers like me, Bradley Manning or Thomas Drake. We are stateless, imprisoned, or powerless. No, the Obama administration is afraid of you. It is afraid of an informed, angry public demanding the constitutional government it was promised — and it should be. ”
Edward Snowden released a statement on Wikileaks July 1st. In the statement he explained the things that the United States Government has used in its attempts to silence him. Based on my obvious bias, this is completely unacceptable. There is not a person in the United States that should be supporting the actions of the US government.
Snowden is being charged with espionage. That is giving information to the enemy. The enemy is apparently the American people. There is no justification for the charges being claimed. This administration (and at least one previous one) are criminals by their own definitions. They’re breaking the oath to the constitution that they’ve sworn to protect.
Now is not the time to sit ideally by and let them destroy the constitution that they promised to protect.
Support Wikileaks. Spread the message of peace (and liberty if you’re so inclined). Don’t settle for the mainstream media’s propaganda (no. There is no evidence that he gave information to China despite the medias need to question it consistently.) Subscribe to this blog. (Email box on the right or follow button on the top of WordPress.) I can promise you, you’re already on the government list for reading this. The NSA knows what you think. It’s not going to help to avoid it. It’s time to stand up and accept that you believe in a peaceful government.
You don’t need to support the same things that I support but if you don’t believe in a totalitarian government then this is the moment you need to start acting.
Do me a favor and reread the Edward Snowden quote. Trust me, it gets better every time.
